For recent press click HERE Two of Australia’s best songwriters, Paul Greene and Kara Grainger, will join forces to play one show at The Basement on Thursday September 4. Paul Greene’s album ‘Distance Over Time’ is a phenomenal showcase for his songwriting skills, justifying the many critics who regard him as one of Australian music's best-kept secrets. Sydney Morning Herald's Bernard Zuel remarked how he moves effortlessly "from rustic folk-pop to unreconstructed rocker; from herbal roots ex-surfer type to intense singer-songwriter". And others agree – He has gained the attention of John Butler, The Waifs and Ani DiFranco and with his album selling over 30,000 units since release he has lived up to the attention. Joining Paul on stage will be Kara Grainger who exhibits an effortlessly seductive and modern take on roots, blues and soul music and whose debut album ‘Grand and Green River’, which features Blue Note recording artist Amos Lee, was released to critical acclaim with the highly respected Blues & Roots bible, Rhythms Magazine describing it as a “rich, fully and lush, a fantastic rootsy record, chock full of the blues, a slight pop undertone, all overlaid with her haunting voice - a debut to be proud of." Before playing The Basement with Paul Greene, Kara will also perform at the 2008 Gympie Muster. Tickets are on sale now from The Basement – www.thebasement.com.au - for a show that promises to be remarkable. Vote for Bring Me Back on CMC Click HERE to vote GRAND AND GREEN RIVER - OUT NOW!
